CSR in Action! Take a Glimpse at Our 2021 Activities

The pandemic hasn’t hampered our commitment to local communities, inclusion programs and care for the environment. Last year we gave it our best, joining and leading several CSR activities across Europe and Latam. Have a look at them!

Empowering people through education & technology

One of our biggest CSR goals as a company is to close the gender gap in the tech industry. Last year, in Argentina we joined two initiatives: Media Chicas (Media Girls), to run jointly a Full Stack Program for teaching women front-end and back-end development, and Club de Chicas Programadoras (Girls Programmers Club), a Summer Club with 2 mentors sharing their knowledge on technological tools with girls aged 13-17. In addition, the company sponsored FemIT, the biggest transfeminism tech conference in the country organized by Las De Sistemas, and Jump!, the first international conference on technology with inclusion and diversity perspective. Moreover, intive continued with our long-term support for the Nahual Project, a nonprofit voluntary project that trains people from the most vulnerable sectors in the society, giving them the possibility to seek employment in the IT sector.

Meanwhile, in Poland we became a Gold Sponsor of the 4th edition of Dare IT Mentoring Program, which is a flagship project of this social business dedicated to solving the tech industry's diversity & talent gaps by supporting women in entering and growing in IT. In 2021, 10 intivers participated in the initiative as mentors, supporting their mentees in a career transformation. Another project of ours worth mentioning is intive Academies, an educational program where new employees receive support and mentoring to develop their careers. One of the programs that we have been running within intive Academies is Patronage, which currently works in Poland and allows all interns the opportunity to create software from scratch. This initiative offers our attendees a unique chance to learn from technical leaders and top-of-the-line specialists.

And, last but not least, in Ireland we continue to support Junior Achievement Ireland, one of the world’s largest educational non-profits, helping prepare young people for their futures by delivering hands-on, experiential learning.

Fostering diversity & inclusion

Advocating for diversity has been one of our core values since the beginnings of the company. In Poland, as a Diversity Charter signatory, intive joined #EUDiversityMonth (May 2021), organized by the European Commission and the EU Diversity Charters Platform. We have also been recognized by the Responsible Business Forum and made their prestigious List of the Best Employers for Diversity & Inclusion.

In Ireland, intive introduced women’s network, where intivers discuss material topics related to women in organization.

On the other side of the globe, our Argentina teams joined BA Convive (BA Live together) Program, an initiative of the Government of the City of Buenos Aires, to participate in workshops for D&I reflection. Moreover, HR conducted “in_talks”, a series of online meetings open to the general public, to learn, discuss and reflect on such topics as gender, environment, technology, inclusion, and community in general.

Health

We care about the physical and mental health of all our employees. That's why we continued with our Less Stress! Program, adding free online therapy consultations (from July to December), and introducing 10 new webinars. Furthermore, during the last year we held two additional webinars on cancer prevention.

Environment

We realized several activities, such as 100% offsetting our Carbon Footprint generated by Business Travels. Additionally, our Munich office switched to renewable energy, and we also hosted a webinar on Digital Carbon Footprint so that intivers could learn how to reduce their own contributions.

Moreover, in Poland the company contributed to forest planting near Wroclaw by founding 5,000 trees.

Charity contributions

Last year we helped the following non-profit foundations and initiatives:

  • People in need: Noble Gift (Poland)

  • Animal shelters (Poland)

  • Support for children: Little Blue Heroes Foundation (Ireland)

  • Support for children: 80 gifts for Thomas Wiser House children's aid facility in Regenstauf as part of The Wishing Tree campaign (Germany)

  • Support for: Association for the Promotion of Children with Cancer and Physical Disabilities VKKK Ostbayern, as well as UNICEF, thanks to intive 7th Automotive Congress (Germany)

  • Support for EdTech: The CrESI project for Comprehensive Sexual Education (Argentina)

  • Ugly Sweater Charity Contest

Nothing is too small when it comes to changing entrenched social patterns and stereotypes. As a company, we are committed to keep working on these inspiring initiatives, and giving our best, to build a better society.
