intive Patronage – Bright Future in IT Just Around the Corner!

There are hundreds of reasons to work in IT. It pays well, there's no shortage of jobs, you'll always be challenged and get a chance to show off your creative side. The only question is how to start with little or no experience? One of the options is intive Patronage!

What is intive Patronage?

It all started in 2007 in Szczecin as a local bottom-up initiative for IT youngsters who wanted to take their first steps in the industry. As the years passed by, we introduced a few changes to the Patronage program, but our aim is still the same: to provide something more than a standard internship program.

We do real applications, with latest tools, technologies, and methodologies used in IT projects. All interns have the opportunity of creating a software from scratch and the most motivated and distinctive participants receive a job offer from us. So far, almost 1000 people have participated in the Patronage program and nearly 140 of them have been employed by us.

In addition to deep technical knowledge, our attendees gain hands-on experience working with technical leaders and top-shelf specialists. We bet on interpersonal communication skills, teamwork and tolerance.

For us eligible candidate can be everyone who turns 18 years old without any IT studies required. What counts for us is commitment and excitement for new challenges!

We go bigger!

In few words what is special about the 2022 edition is: new cities (we will have five locations now!), more technology groups and even more participants!

More specifically we offer the following groups in the listed cities:

  • Szczecin – QA, JavaScript, Java, Android

  • Lublin - QA, JavaScript, Android

  • Poznań - QA, JavaScript, Android

  • Wrocław - QA, JavaScript, Java, Android, iOS

  • Białystok - QA, JavaScript, .NET

Our enrolment campaign has been very successful this year, and now over 800 applications are already submitted! The next step will be the selection of the tasks and the opening of the recruitment process between November and December 2021.

We’re going to choose more than 150 interns to join us. And for the first time this year the program will start in January with the GIT and SCRUM OHS trainings.

From participant to leader

What’s interesting some of our leaders have already participated in the program as interns. One of them – Borys Hajdas says: “The patronage gave me the possibility to learn and to start my carrier. It helped me take my first steps as a developer. Besides basic technical skills, like commercial app architecture, good practices, writing clean code and testing it I've learnt how to work in SCRUM and GIT or how to work together on one code base. Right now, I want to share this experience with my younger colleagues and lead others in their first steps on the commercial work.”

What next?

Before the Christmas holydays our leaders will recommend a list of finalists and the schedule for their interviews will be presented.

Based on the results of previous editions we estimate that each technological group will select around 6 to 8 candidates so over 150 IT Beginners will get patronage.

From January to May, we will start the development process. The intive Patronage’s participants will work in sprints on the real applications under the sharp-eyed supervision of our leaders. They will have to face daily challenges of industry professionals and find a way to work together in groups.

Each one of them will have the opportunity to learn from our mentors on weekly meetings.

From May 2022 the hiring session will begin. Professionalism, advanced communicative skills and hard work will be the perfect recipe to get a chance of working for us!

Despite the pandemic, that is forcing us to conduct more than half of our program remotely, we truly hope that our 15th edition will be another great success with many interesting events to remember and a lot to learn!
