Which advanced concepts in PHP have recently been gaining more importance and why?
I am very excited about the introduction of Fibers in PHP 8.1, which finally gives developers the ability to run code asynchronously, making multitasking an actual option. At last! Thanks to this feature, we can now think of scalability not only from the infrastructure level, but also from the codebase level.
What should we expect in web development in 2022?
Since the ability to quickly develop small desktop and mobile applications is crucial for startups, and startups are playing a bigger and bigger role every year, I expect technologies like Flutter and Dart-like languages will be gaining popularity. For those who don’t know: Flutter is an SDK created by Google that allows to create cross platform applications (iOS, Android, Web, etc.)using only one codebase, which drastically decreases the time required to develop multiple apps.
How does company culture help you grow professionally?
intive encourages a knowledge-sharing culture. So when I’m stuck with a problem, I know there are plenty of skilled people I can turn to for help, and vice versa: It is very motivating to know that when I learn something new, there might be someone I can possibly help by sharing the know-how of that new skill I’ve just learned.
What’s your favorite comfort food?
Żurek (traditional Polish sourdough soup with meat).
How do you celebrate New Year’s Eve?
I’m going to spend that night with my family.
