intive in the Final Round of the iF DESIGN AWARD 2021

Munich, Germany – February 4, 2021 – intive announced today that experts of the international design panel for the IF Design Award 2021 have selected the company’s entry for the iF Final Jury. intive has submitted two products to this year’s competition: the xarvio™ SCOUTING app realized with BASF Digital Farming and GewinnArena designed for Seven. One Entertainment Group. It’s the sixth design recognition for intive’s designers in recent years, and their second iF DESIGN AWARD final.

The iF DESIGN AWARD is presented annually by the world's oldest independent design institution, the iF International Forum Design GmbH in Hannover. This year, the number of participants in the first round has attracted a record number of entries: jurors evaluated nearly 10.000 submissions from over 52 countries. intive’s entry included two redesign projects for globally recognized brands.

xarvio™ SCOUTING – a smart pocket solution that addresses the challenges in large- and small-scale farming – is one of BASF’s signature digital products. The app allows farmers to identify weeds, determine and count insects in yellow traps, recognize plant diseases, analyze leaf-damage and check nitrogen status simply by taking a smartphone picture. User-friendly interfaces designed by intive make the digital farming experience intuitive and inclusive. With GewinnArena, intive’s design experts have successfully tackled the challenge of bringing all the excitement of TV competitions and quizzes with online gaming under one roof. GewinnArena is a digital platform that serves as an additional touchpoint with the popular shows on air and an example of a modern media solution that translates the TV reach into new digital business.

“Projects like xarvio SCOUTING – a mobile application with over 3.5 million users across more than hundred countries – present a wonderful opportunity to prove the importance of people-centric design. A smart virtual assistant for farmers must be accurate and fast, but, above all, it has to be easily accessible. The solution that our Product and Service Designers helped create has become a part of farmers’ field routine, worldwide,” – said Johannes Dornisch, Chief Design Officer at intive. “I’m proud that it caught the attention of the iF DESIGN AWARD 2021 expert panel. And seeing GewinnArena among the selected products makes me even happier. User-centricity and simplicity prove essential, regardless of the domain.”

More detailed information on the products submitted by intive can be found under “Finalists” in the iF WORLD DESIGN GUIDE: xarvio™ SCOUTING and GewinnArena. The Final Jury will announce the winners in March 2021.
