Munich, Germany — January 25, 2017 – Esprit, one of the world´s largest fashion brands with more than 760 directly managed retail stores and over 6,300 wholesale points of sale across the globe, has appointed intive Kupferwerk as its lead eCommerce mobile app developer and design consultant. The Munich-based software house won the offer while competing against ten other international software providers.
The new partnership is being geared to enhance customer shopping experience with Esprit’s existing iOS and Android mobile platforms. The new feature-rich eCommerce app is to provide more native elements to the shopping funnel and promote user engagement.
As part of the collaboration, intive Kupferwerk will re-develop front-end for the retailer’s iOS and Android apps and build a mobile middleware to replace the currently used server. On the novelty side of the process, UI/UX design will be incorporated into agile sprints and run in parallel to the software engineering.
"After due consideration, we chose intive Kupferwerk for their strong expertise in developing native mobile solutions, high-quality standards, and an extensive e-commerce experience, particularly with global fashion brands. eCommerce space continues to change very rapidly, and offering a mobile platform proven to keep pace with latest functionality updates is of vital importance for our business. The enhanced mobile eCommerce solution will allow us to even better serve the needs of our digitally savvy customers and stay ahead of their accelerating expectations.
" - says Leif Erichson
, Chief Operations and Systems Officer at Esprit.
The collaboration between Esprit and intive has just entered the phase of advanced engineering work with a dedicated Scrum team.
"Transferring the existing Esprit app to brand new coding standards and latest findings in the mobile space presents a series of unique challenges", says Wolfe W. Diener, Vice President and Country Manager Germany at intive Kupferwerk. "The current Esprit app has several thousand users registered across the globe, and we need to make sure the mobile solution continues to offer them undisturbed customer experience at any point of the development process", he concludes.
