On November 1st in Berlin intive UX designers celebrated with UID the success of Vorwerk’s latest Thermomix®, the TM6 and Cookidoo®, a digital platform tailored to suit the busy, modern lifestyle.
The world’s most intelligent food processor is accompanied by a state-of-the-art digital recipe ecosystem called Cookidoo®. The intuitive digital platform revolutionized the modern-day cooking experience and its outstanding design has been recognized with the prestigious Red Dot Award: Brands & Communication Design 2019. Behind the success of the creative new user interface stands the work of talented designers from Vorwerk International & Co. KmG, intive and User Interface Design GmbH (UID). It’s the second industry recognition for Cookidoo® this year – the same design team received the UX Design Award in the product category from the International Design Center Berlin (IDZ) in September.
Design excellence continues
intive joined forces with Vorwerk back in 2012. The long-standing partnership resulted in multiple projects including UX/UI design endeavors as well as concept development and web & native mobile development for iOS and Android. In the Cookidoo® challenge, the intive design team worked hand in hand with Vorwerk and UID to deliver an incredible, never-before-seen ecosystem that takes cooking to a whole new level. The Red Dot Award: Brands & Communication Design recognizes these efforts and pays tribute to the carefully thought-out design that’s bold, creative and wonderfully intuitive for the user.
"Industry recognitions such as the coveted Red Dot Award are a wonderful seal of approval for our designers and our continued partnership with Vorwerk. The latest award brings further confidence to the strong Design expertise at intive, and our reputation for shipping beautifully engineered products and services to market. I’m very proud of the joint efforts that led to the creation of a solution as innovative and delightful as this digital recipe ecosystem. " - says Bhav Chohan , VP & Chief Design Officer at intive.
Extraordinary UX for a cutting-edge product
The German do-it-all kitchen appliance has been a game changer since the 1970s. It introduced a multifunctional standard unrivalled for its premium quality and reliability. Thermomix® entered the digital era gracefully and with a bang. The latest TM6 offers a 6.8-inch full-color touchscreen display that enables easy interaction with the device and forms an integral part of the award-winning digital recipe ecosystem. Thermomix users can now easily switch between the smart kitchen appliance, mobile devices and their PCs searching through thousands of recipes on the Cookidoo® platform. They can also enjoy a weekly planning feature and a shopping assistant that make the digital journey complete. It’s the seamless interaction across all devices and the holistic approach to design that triggered the attention of UX experts from the competitions’ juries.
