Munich, Germany – February 12, 2020 – intive and User Interface Design GmbH (UID) receive a third industry award for the Cookidoo® recipe platform realized with Vorwerk International & Co. KmG for Thermomix® – Vorwerk’s flagship product and one of the most successful IoT devices worldwide. The state-of-the-art digital ecosystem was recognized with an iF DESIGN AWARD 2020 in the ‘Communication’ category. The iF DESIGN AWARD is one of the most significant industry acknowledgments and the oldest independent design seal in the world.
iF International Forum Design GmbH has been presenting the awards annually since 1953. This year, a jury of 78 international design experts evaluated more than 7,200 entries from 56 countries. The jury recognized innovative thinking paired with design excellence that produces outstanding results in the following disciplines: product, packaging, communication, interior architecture, professional concept, service design and architecture. The competition treats the innovative angle equally important as functionality, aesthetics, environmental and social responsibility, and positioning understood as a perfect brand and target fit. The TM6 and Cookidoo® embody the power of good design and continuously prove their success among users worldwide. Now, they triggered the attention of design authorities at iF.
intive, as Vorwerk’s digital partner since 2012, collaborated with UID designers and Vorwerk’s teams on creating a customer journey of digital cooking that encompasses all aspects of the product that users experience, and all their needs. Cookidoo® is seamlessly integrated into the Thermomix® TM6 and stands for a digital interconnection of cooking, planning and shopping. The user-centric approach behind each design decision and a consistent brand feeling at all touchpoints won Cookidoo® and Thermomix® TM6 two industry recognitions in 2019: the UX Design Award in the product category from the International Design Center Berlin (IDZ) in September and the Red Dot Award: Brands & Communication Design in November.
“The iF DESIGN AWARD celebrates excellence in every aspect of our work and it’s one of the most prestigious design awards out there. I’m extremely proud of our team and the great work we did with our colleagues from UID and Vorwerk,” – said Johannes Dornisch, Lead User Experience Designer at intive. “The passion for one’s work is what makes a difference. I’m honored to have led a team of design enthusiasts who made this happen and happy to have worked in this multidisciplinary project setup. Great experience.”
The awards from iF International Forum Design GmbH will be presented at the iF design award night 2020 at Friedrichstadt-Palast in Berlin on the 4th of May. The iF-award winning entries will be showcased at Cafe Moskau in Berlin from May 2nd through 10th.
