What do you enjoy the most about being a Scrum master?
I feel absolutely fantastic every time I help my team be more effective, transparent and cooperative. I know that when we collaborate better, the gains for the customer and the end user are tangible. Also, it’s a really powerful experience to work on an important product, one that is used by many people.
What makes a good team?
Working with the Scrum Values on a daily basis is crucial. These are: Openness, Courage, Focus, Commitment and Respect. All well-known from personal life, aren't they?
With these in action - which is not an easy thing to achieve - we can move mountains together!
Do you use agile techniques in your personal life?
Yes, I do. I think we all do. You analyze your decisions and moves, draw lessons for the future and introduce change. Agile principles are in fact real-life principles. Just two years ago, I’ve decided to make a change in my career path and here I am, working with project teams on enhancing collaboration. That was an agile move, I’d say.
What’s the first thing you do when you wake up?
I look out the window and check the weather. I’m one of those who really charge batteries in the sun!
If you could live anywhere in the world for a year, where would it be?
Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia. It’s a calm city with a beautiful old town, close to the mountains and just a two-hour ride from the Adriatic Sea.
