Seamless Data Migration and Enhanced Reporting Solutions
Establishing strategic cooperation
To tackle this task, in 2019, the organization formed a strategic partnership with intive. This synergy with intive resulted in a new phase of development for the leading Polish banking and financial services company. The primary focus was on streamlining processes, increasing operational efficiency, and strengthening the bank’s position in the investment funds market.
In response to evolving business needs and the integration of systems from other companies, the bank took action to streamline and adapt its technical activities. One critical aspect was the modernization of business reports, which had previously required time-consuming manual modifications. Additionally, the bank wanted to create and customize reports independently, without relying on the technical team.
Another essential part of modernizing and optimizing the bank's operations was replacing Oracle Reports, a tool used for generating reports from data stored in Oracle databases. As the provider retired one of the most popular reporting tools in the Financial Services industry in 2021, the bank needed to find an alternative solution. With data playing an increasingly vital role in the organization's financial performance and decision-making, the bank needed a solution that offered real-time access to data and seamless distribution throughout the organization, while maintaining scalability and security.
The migration was a success thanks to intive’s years of experience, a proactive approach to the process, and a thorough analysis of the client's needs. Following the recommendations of the technology provider itself and aligning with business requirements, intive seamlessly migrated to Oracle BI Publisher, the official successor of Oracle Reports.
This advanced solution empowers users to effortlessly create, manage, and deliver pixel-perfect customer-facing reports from diverse data sources using web browsers or familiar desktop tools, with minimal impact on the transactional system.
During the migration, the intive team performed a series of high-level processes to ensure a seamless transition. This included conducting a comprehensive analysis of the current Oracle Reports configuration, reports, and metadata. The team also installed a single instance of the Oracle Business Intelligence Publisher platform, laying a robust foundation for the migration process.
By using the migration utility, the team was able to migrate the existing Oracle Reports RDF architecture to the Oracle Business Intelligence Publisher Data/RTF Template platform. Additionally, intive successfully transferred existing Oracle Reports (RDF files) to Oracle Business Intelligence Publisher Data/RTF Template files.
The team also carried out rigorous testing of the Oracle Business Intelligence Publisher environment and reports. Furthermore, intive actively engaged in knowledge transfer sessions with the customer's staff, promoting seamless adaptation and effective utilization of the new platform.

intive adjusted the team size to align with the requirements of the leading Polish bank and the complexity of its operations. The team proactively managed the project scope, closely monitoring progress, promptly addressing client needs, and ramping up resources where necessary. The team, composed of a Project Manager, analyst, tester, and multiple developers, ensured flexible project management and effective task execution.
The bank needed to synchronize with system shutdown schedules and develop a file exchange interface that worked in harmony with other banks' operations. Working under tight deadlines and accomplishing tasks in parallel, intive was able to deliver this.
The team systematically evaluated the action plan and reviewed milestones throughout the project. They conducted multiple test migrations of data and functionalities, which made processes more efficient and ultimately contributed to the project’s success.
