Pioneering solutions
Together with intive, ProSiebenSat.1 Media developed Maxdome, Germany’s biggest online video store’s first streaming app for all relevant mobile platforms. The project was innovative in several ways, including its early adoption of Chromecast. intive worked closely with Google to develop one of the first apps for the platform.
One app on four platforms
intive redesigned Maxdome iOS app while also developing new applications for Android and Windows. The project also included smart TV integration and the first implementation of DRM-protected streaming content in offline mode. These advancements, combined with a demanding timeline, made the project particularly challenging.
High standards
When Google introduced Chromecast, its most successful step into living rooms at the time, Maxdome was chosen as a showcase application. With the Chromecast SDK still unstable, intive had to ensure exceptional performance under challenging conditions. The Android development team and project management worked closely with Google’s London team to achieve seamless performance.
