The Challenge
The project presented two significant challenges. The first was managing complex technical integration. The app needed to synchronize with multiple backend systems and incorporate Rossmann’s physical cashier infrastructure to enable features like coupon scanning and redemption.
The second challenge was ensuring an intuitive, seamless user experience for Rossmann's diverse customer base. The app had to cater to a wide audience with varying levels of digital familiarity while maintaining high accessibility and joy-of-use.
To address these needs, intive's Design and Architecture teams conducted extensive user testing and took an agile development approach, fostering close collaboration to ensure that the app’s complex components worked together flawlessly.

Additionally, members of the Rossmann babywelt ("babyworld") can receive their coupons automatically. The app also features classic e-commerce functionalities, such as a store locator and access to the Rossmann newsletter.
With tens of millions used coupons, more than 700,000 Apple App Store ratings with an average of 4.7 Stars, the app has become one of the biggest mobile success stories in the market.
